When a coach guides a client into vivid, felt experience of their highest potential, something profound occurs neurologically. The Default Mode Network shifts from constructing a narrative around current limitations to simulating the identity of the person they are becoming (Schacter et al., 2007). The Salience Network recalibrates, and the entire operating system of the brain begins filtering experience through the lens of that expanded identity (Seeley et al., 2007; Uddin, 2015). Motivation aligns. Action follows naturally (Berridge & Robinson, 1998; Ryan & Deci, 2000).

 

This ability of a coach to catalyze the highest potential of our clients is of crucial importance. In times of economic uncertainty and global disruption, the world does not need more people operating from scarcity, pressure, and survival. It needs people who have accessed their highest potential and are building from that place. Coaches who understand this are not just serving individual clients. They are contributing to a fundamental reorientation of how human communities generate value; from extraction to reciprocity, from competition to synergistic co-creation, from survival to elevation.

Cultural Elders from Hawaii and Peru

A core philosophy of the Founder's Circle is that coaches can become anchors and leaders of a new type of business, one that measures its success by the collective impact of the whole; every person is viewed through the lens of appreciative curiosity, in a living world of relational intelligence.  We are honored to have occasional Cultural Elders from Hawaii and Peru Wisdom Traditions as guest lecturers that share these concepts in depth, speaking from their lens of the role of coaches during these times of great change in our global landscapes and economies.
